Quickie Book Review: The Weight of Blood by Laura McHugh

The Weight of BloodThe Weight of Blood by Laura McHugh

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can’t say enough good things about this novel. It’s tragic and dark, completely captivating, and full of deep, dark twists. The power of family and betrayal. Of uncovering secrets long buried.

It’s a haunting read, and one that I fell into whole-heartedly, sucked into the story by the finessed prose and swirling ether of tragedy a’coming.

After reading the last line, I laid down my ereader and let the book replay through my mind like a silent film. Dreamed about it again that night. And still, days later the story has stuck with me, which is always a hallmark of a great book.

***PS – Today is the release day for this book, so check it out!
